News from YOUR MAINE STAMPER 1/4/10

New Valentine paper! Kraft and a lovely rich red! Vintage Valentine images! LOVE IT!

Stamp-of-the-Month for January! Seven left--and it's only the 4th! Get yours before they are gone!

Kellie made these seven (7!) cards during class today--and she has enough stuff to take home to make at least three more! She gets the Gold Star Super Student Award! This was really fun! She used 6X6 papers from Webster's Pages, other odd paper I had left over from previous Christmas card classes, cards and envelopes from Memory Box, and the snow globe stamp from DRS. She used a glue pen and ultrafine white glitter for snow on some of them. The most fun we had was trying to make the snow globes look more snow-globe-y. For the single tree and the snowman ones, she covered the stamped images with lots of Perfect Medium and then used Faith's clear embossing powder for two layers, heating and melting in between, then added a layer of glitter and another layer of embossing powder. The results were pretty cool, though the photo doesn't really do them justice. She got a good head start on next year's Christmas cards today! Remember that the first Monday of every month I'm offering a Christmas Card Club class from 1-3 PM.

On Saturday Courtney is offering a calendar class. Call the shop to sign up and bring photos for each month of the year.

Next Monday we start our Gifts From the Heart classes using Valentine's Studio releases from Memory Box. We're starting with the Bag and Tag book that I posted on the Outside the Box blog (http://davebrethauer.typepad.com/outsidethebox/) on December 29th and also on my personal blog (http://notesfromthewoodshed.blogspot.com). We will probably also have time to make the Valentine Heart Ornaments (2 each). Samples are at the shop. Again, please call the shop to hold your space in any of my upcoming classes.

More new items in today:
pretty pink organdy-ish flowers
heart bubble stickers
heart brads in a great red
Queen & Co. felt heart sticky-backed "ribbon" in pink and in red, narrow ones and wide ones
$2 spools of ribbon--pink checks, red checks. hot pink narrow satin, lighter pink narrow satin
cardstock stickers for St. Patrick's Day
adorable blank board books in a heart shape to be papered, collaged, and otherwise decorated

I set up the Valentines table today--we have lots of new stamps, some great word stamps, and some of your favorites from last year. There's more on order and due in any day now--stamps, papers, ribbons, embossing powders, inks...keep checking the blog to see what's new!

Happy Stamping!

Anne

  1. Really sorry I missed this class; sounds like my friend Kellie does deserve the Gold Star Award -- looks like she kept "on task!" with lots of beautiful finished cards. Connie
