GIVE-AWAY and CHALLENGE: the ugly dog contest
The ugly dog is the one that nobody wants. I have tons of ugly dog-like stuff in my studio space that I no longer want. I'm packaging up papers and stickers and embellishments along with a card and an envelope in bags for the first 25 people through the door on March 6th. Your challenge is to make a greeting card for any occasion using at least some of the contents of the bag I give you. We're going to hang those cards up around the store as soon as we get them. I'd like you to deliver or mail your card to the store on or before April 1st to be entered into an UGLY DOG CONTEST GRAND PRIZE DRAWING during our Raining Cats and Dogs Event in April. I have several special prizes to be warded that day, so I'm sure you'll want to get in on the fun!

They're here!!! The new Memory Box stamps are here!!!

The new Memory Box stamps arrived today! I helped Lydia unpack them and place them on the shelves. We also got some new cards and envelopes in a couple of new colors and some great white textured cardstock that the Memory Box folks have been using for watercolored stamped images. Another order came yesterday--the reordering of things we'd run out of and a few new-to-us images. There's the cutest Garden Bunny, a Bare Oak tree, more Bramble Hearts and more Tree of Love. There's a new-to-us Build-A-Tree with leaves stamp on the end, more Log Home stamps and Stump Parade. A whole bunch of Big and Little Squirrels were in that box, too! You really need to come into the shop and get some of these stamps before they are gone. I hear that there are a few Easter stamps from Memory Box that we will be ordering next week as well. Oh, you've got to get some of the new Daffodil Pearls--what a lovely shade of yellow! Perfect for flower centers or adding that extra bling to spring and Easter cards.

Some other things that came in this week:
gorgeous new extra large clear stamps from Tattered Angels--butterflies and flourishes; owls
Lemonade paper in pink/yellow; fire hydrant/paw paper for the dog lovers
a new 6X6 pack called Fernbrae from Memory Box
Hero Arts clear stamps of Feathers that are just beautiful
a scallop circle Marvy lever punch

Lydia ordered the peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry today, so those should be here within a week or so. We ordered plenty of extras, so there will be all kinds of sets and individual peg stamps for those of you who like to work with tiny images. You are going to LOVE these! Maybe we can get Paula to do another demo or make and take soon once she has hers, too.

Lydia has also been creating collage-y packs--a card and envelope, some coordinating papers and stickers, extra doo-dads and such--$5 each! Come check them out and let her know if you want her to make more.

There's still room in my Monday Trees-Trees-Trees class where we will be making all occasion cards with trees as the central image. $15, 1-3 PM

SAVE THE DATE!!! We're GOING GREEN on Saturday, March 6th!!! Free Make and Take for St. Patrick's Day featuring the new double shamrock stamp from Memory Box with Anne Thompson! Free Demo on Tattered Angels products with Penny Bennington!Green cardstock and green papers will be buy 2 and get 2 more free! Green ribbon will be buy one yard and get another yard free! This will be a great day to stock up on St. Patrick's Day supplies as well as on things you can use for Easter, spring, and other "green" celebrations! Remember to reduce-reuse-recycle by bringing those zip pouches back and filling them up with new product in order to get your name in the monthly drawing! We are hoping that the weather will cooperate with us and we can get a head start on spring!!!

Dad has been forcing twigs from various trees and bushes in our yard. The forsythia branches blossomed today in the vase on top of the refrigerator. I don't know about you, and it hasn't been an awful winter really, but I am so ready for spring. I'm envious of friends on the west coast who are already working in their gardens!

Happy Stamping!

Orders Placed! What else would you like???

For those of you who left orders with us on SuperBowl Sunday, those orders have been written up. I spoke with Dave at Memory Box on Monday and ordered everything you requested and more. Our shelves were looking a little bare on Monday morning! He has a new set of ten stamps that were released on Monday and I ordered those, too! And there are new card and envelope colors coming. I reordered Gossamer paper in 6X6s, and a new combination package called Fernbrae that I think you will love.

I went online and figured out the Rubber Stamp Tapestry order for Lydia and left that with her yesterday. Everyone seemed to love these tiny peg stamps! This is a company that we have not done business with for a few years now, but we certainly will take a look at their new products based on overwhelming customer interest.

Some new stamps from Stampendous arrived on Monday. There are more orders due in this week. And Lydia keeps ordering more stuff! We have lots of new papers coming to fill up some of our empty paper trays.

We have a huge selection of stamps at 50% off, making way for new ones.

And then there's the big stamp show in Massachusetts that Lydia, Connie and I will be attending at the end of March when we get to see all the latest and greatest and order even more products for you!!! I can't wait!!! Last time I went I got buried in ribbons for a long time. Please please please let us know if there is anything you'd like us to stock at Your Maine Stamper. We are more than willing to investigate new products and companies that we don't know about that maybe you do. You can always post a comment to this blog or call Lydia at the store or bring in a sample or magazine showing what you are interested in. We only get better with your input!!!

Happy stamping!

THANK YOU!!!

THE GAME IS OVER AND WE ARE EXHAUSTED!!! What a great day we had at Your Maine Stamper today for our annual SuperBowl Sunday Party! Thanks from all of us: Lydia, the store owner and hostess extraordinaire; Connie, who manned the register and handed out door prizes to everyone who shopped as well as sneaking in a few tutorials for using the envelope template, Diamond Glaze, Twinklets, and Dew Drops embellishments; Robyn, who demoed Cuttlebug stuff and generally circulated about answering customer questions and I don't know what all else (I could never get near her table space); Kellie, who was in her element with bookmark-making today--we could barely get people away from her; Paula, who worked with Courtney's paper templates and Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps and took orders for them; and me, Anne, who held court with the Memory Box display, catalogs/order forms, and some Make and Takes. We had about forty people stop by today and play! Donna Maxim won the Grand Prize drawing at the end of the day. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR MAKING THIS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE EVENTS YEAR AFTER YEAR!!! We've got plenty of ordering to do this week fill your requests from both Memory Box and Rubber Stamp Tapestry. I know there are new products on order that are due in soon as well, so keep checking the blog for updates. Later this week I'll have a new classes schedule for February and March as well as information about our March event. Remember to bring those Zip Pouches back when you shop at Your Maine Stamper--every time you buy more product and use that bag, your name will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of each month. Reduce-Reuse-Recycle!!!

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Happy Stamping!

MEMORY BOX IS HERE! MEMORY BOX IS HERE!

WOO-HOO!!! Could you hear Connie and me from wherever you were this morning as we began unpacking the boxes?!!! We got tons of stuff from Memory Box--well, not literally tons, but pounds and pounds in two very large boxes--cards, envelopes, jewels, pearls, and stamps and more stamps!!! What a busy morning we had unpacking and pricing and placing everything in the Memory Box Area!!!

New shimmer cards and envelopes (A2s and A4 Bar sizes) in Truffle, Grass, Pistachio, Lagoon, and Aquamarine.
Pearls in White, 24 Karat, and Frost Blue.
Jewels in Sparkling Diamond, Pistachio Green, Grass Green, Deep Lagoon, and Sky Blue.
FOUR new 12X12s for .80 each
TWENTY packages of FROND 6X6 papers
TWENTY packages of SPEARMINT 6X6 papers

THE ENTIRE WHAT'S INSIDE THE BOX RELEASE!!! That's 6 each of 17 NEW stamps!!! We even ordered extra Squirrels because we know you are going to love this big and little squirrel pair--two stamps on one block!

We restocked Branch Heart! and Heart Notes for your valentines!

Samples are up for some of the new stamps, too, as well as a Memory Box sign for that area above the two pegboards. I'm working up a few more new samples, too, to give you ideas for using lots of these stamps.

My favorites on the shelves right now:
1. Brilliant Tree ( a great silhouette of a tree just leafing out)
2. First Flight (butterflies in silhouette)
3. Birds in the Vines ( a great image for adding Stickles or tiny jewels to the flowers on the vines)
4. Flower Bundle (stems and an extra flower stamp on the side) that can be mixed and matched with 5. Vine Border because it has a tinier version of the same flower on its side
6. Big and Little Squirrel (they are just tooo cute!)
7. Stump Parade and 8. Log Home are both perfect perches for those squirrels. Log Home has a leaves stamp on the side and can be used as a tree upright or as a log horizontally.
9. Tree Frame has gorgeous bare branches--the sample has them covered in Flower Soft like spring blossoms. Pretty!
10. Mod Tree Border is FUN! Just stamp the tree outlines in brown and then ink up the circle on the side to restamp a circle top on each tree in shades of green.
11. Distressed Swirl adds interesting texture to a card--I used it on a bunch of anytime cards last week.
Hmmm...that's most of the stamps in this release!!!

Stop by on Friday or Saturday to get first dibs on what's there. If you pre-ordered stamps, we have them bagged and tagged and waiting for you at the front counter.

And, don't forget--SUPERBOWL SUNDAY AT YOUR MAINE STAMPER!!!

Counting Down to Sunday!!!

We are getting ready!!! Connie and I did a little rearranging today to make space for everything that's going to happen in the shop this week and on SuperBowl Sunday.

At the constant nagging of a bunch of people in the shop this morning, I called Dave at Memory Box to see when we should expect the What's Inside the Box order. It should be here on Wednesday/Thursday!!! Woo-Hoo!!! We'll call anyone who pre-ordered stamps or papers once everything is priced and ready to go so you can come and get it. I know I can't wait!!! For those of you who don't know what all the excitement is about, we are expecting 20+ new stamps from Memory Box (at least 6 of each one), gorgeous new 12X12s and two different 6X6 packs of papers, notecards and envelopes in new blues and greens that you are going to love, and pearls and jewels in coordinating colors. There should be some "extras" in the box for my MakeIt/TakeIt on Sunday...you are going to love the techniques I'll be sharing that day.

Twinklets came in today as well as lots of inks, Glossy Accents, and envelope templates (so you can make your own cool envelopes). A big order of new stamps came in from Northwoods--squirrels, "will work for seed", chipmunks, anniversary words, and a bunch of Easter-themed stamps--watering can and tulips, tiny chicks inside tulip blossoms, daffodil border, Easter lily rectangle, an adorable bunny square, and more. The Stamp-of-the-month is here too--a glass bowl of roses!!! That will be a great stamp for Valentines Day, an anniversary, birthday, Mother's Day, or for an anytime card.

You may not want to wait until Sunday to see what's new. It's been amazing lately to watch how fast stuff flies out the door! I think Connie said we were out of Neptune Blue ink by 4 this afternoon and we only unpacked it at noon!!!

Lydia has put together a door prize package for each of the first 30 people who come to the store on SuperBowl Sunday to party with us. You are not going to believe this!!! There will be a drawing too for a big prize at the end of the day--and you do not need to be present to win--we'll call the winner. This prize is so big and so secret that no one has even told me what it is!!!

As usual there will be food and lots of laughter during the day on Sunday, some great sales on all things red/pink, and Connie and I are going to fill a basket with regular stamps we will discount for that day only. You never know what crazy stunts we'll pull!!! We are planning to have some fun!!!

Mark your calendar. Tell the guys they have to fend for themselves until you get home, and stop in for SuperBowl Sunday at Your Maine Stamper!!!

Happy Stamping!
