the Happiest Birthday sentiment that has the extra little butterfly on the side! And the Damask Butterfly and the Garden Cutaway round out this collection of seven new stamps.

The papers are incredibly beautiful...3 new 12X12s and a new 6X6 collection with lovely greens and
yellows and purples. You are going to want them all!!!

New card colors in shimmers include Pistachio which is a really pale yellowy green, Opal which is more like a shimmery offwhite pearl, a new green, a new blue, and more of our favorite Raspberry.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SATURDAY! HAVE WE GOT SURPRISES FOR YOU!!!

I really can hardly wait for Saturday and our Raining Cats and Dogs Event!!!

We've been getting in products just for that day, mostly dog and cat themed items, and squirreling them away in the back--a stamp-for-the-event that will be 40% off and cost you about $6; new 6X6 papers and new 12X12 papers; lots of new stamps; some really cute embellishments; ribbon; and I can't even remember what else I've been stuffing into the closet!

We've got prizes, too!!!
I think there are at least FIVE prizes for the Ugly Dog Card Contest!
There's ONE prize for the name drawn from the Teddy bear jar for using your zip pouches!
And there are FOUR baskets that we will raffle off!
All prizes will be drawn at noontime.  You do not have to be present to win, but who'd want to miss all the excitement!!!

There will be demos and a free make and take!
I heard that there will be food!
As usual there will be lots of laughter!

I am ever hopeful that our newest Memory Box release will arrive tomorrow so that we will have all of the Enchanted Butterflies products for sale on Saturday--new stamps, new 6X6 pads, and new 12X12s, all of which you will LOVE!!!  Keep your fingers crossed!  I know that it has been shipped, but it wasn't with UPS or FedEx today.

Lydia has been ordering things, too, that have been arriving at the shop all week.  I hear that ALL of the new Tim Holtz Distress Inks should be here by tomorrow.  That's 12 new colors!  And they are beautiful!  I know that a Hero Arts order came in today, too--more new stamps!!!

New HOUSE MOUSE for May is in and will be available to purchase!

Anne's Upcoming Classes @ Your Maine Stamper

Lydia called the other day and asked if I knew what classes I'd be offering in the near future.  I came up with this list.  Each class will be held on Monday afternoon from 1-3 PM and the cost will be $15 per class.

May 3  Our monthly Christmas Card Class
Every month I try to come up with ideas we haven't tried yet--new card designs, layouts, or techniques.  It's always a surprise (mostly because I don't put the class kits together until the weekend before!).

May 10 Enchanted Butterflies
We'll be using the new stamps from the Memory Box Enchanted Butterfly release as well as the new 6X6 papers and some of the new 12X12s.  I did all my samples for this class already!  I made them as birthday cards because of the great new happiest birthday stamp, but they can be made for any occasion and I'll have a variety of sentiments to choose from.

May 24 Make Your Own Embellishments
I've been working up some ideas for making our own flowers and stamping and painting and spritzing them as well as other kinds of embellishments too.  This will be a fun class as I have lots and lots of ideas and techniques to try.

June 7 Christmas Cards and Coupon Books
I'm still looking for the perfect tool to make perforations with to make it
easier to tear coupons out of the book...

June 14 Flag Day--Flags, Pennants, and the Fourth of July
Because it's Flag Day, I thought we should make flags and pennants and
incorporate them into cards and room decor. It's less than a month to the
Fourth of July and I have some great party decorations in mind.

June 21 Welcome the First Day of Summer!
Cards and invitations for summertime wishes and events

June 28 Acetate Cards
I've got to figure out techniques for working on acetate that will translate into neat cards.
That is my plan and I'm sticking to it!

July 5 Another first-of-the-month Christmas Cards Class

Sometime in July: Classes with Dave Brethauer, owner and designer
from Memory Box!!!
I'm negotiating costs, dates, etc. with Dave and Lydia.
How many of you would be willing to pay $40 for a class taught by Dave
using colored pencils or watercolors and the newest
2010 Christmas/holiday stamps???
I need some feedback so we can decide soon whether we can afford to do this or not.
Please leave a message in the comments section, or e-mail me at
anne.thompson@faripoint.net,
or call and leave a message on my voicemail at 207-268-3286.

It's Raining Cats and Dogs at Your Maine Stamper

We are certainly having some fun at the shop this month as we collect food donations and sell raffle tickets for 4 baskets of dog/cat-themed goodies with the monies and the food going to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society.  Remember that your food donation of $5 or more value gets you 6 tickets for the raffles or you can purchase raffle tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5.  We were doing a brisk business on raffle tickets this morning, especially while our friend Boomer the dog was visiting!  Even the postman bought tickets!

NEW PRODUCTS AT YOUR MAINE STAMPER

Our first order from The Cat's Pajamas arrived this morning.  Several of the stamps we have tucked away for the event on the 24th, including a perfect stamp for that day at 40% off that will retail for less than $6.  The rest of the stamps are out on the front counter--Chicken Soup (a chicken sitting in a bowl labeled "soup"); the Spring Chicken (sitting in a baby carriage); "You're no spring chicken" word stamps; and "Happy 29th birthday again" word stamps.

There's new paper in from Bo Bunny--more of the dot papers in great colors for spring and summer; four coordinating papers in rusts and greens, some with leaves, some with words, perfect background papers for card fronts or scrapbook pages.  There's other new 12X12s, too:  a hot pink with black glitter branches; a lovely blue on blue; strawberries; florals.

We are already reordering more of the new products that came in last week from Nikki Sivils, another new-to-us company.  There are great 6X6 pads!  You have to see these papers!!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of them!  We also got in Bread(less) Tags which are great for pins or embellishments and White Paper Flags just begging to be decorated for pins, embellishments, or even for cupcake labels!  Connie has made up some cute samples for many of these products.  I think you are going to love this line!

The Memory Box Enchanted Butterfly release has been ordered and will ship around the 15th so we should have those in by the event on the 24th!  There are new 6X6 papers and 12X12s that are absolutely beautiful that will be coming with that order as well as more notecards and envelopes in new colors including some shimmer ones.

We have new sparkly stickers in blue, pink and purple circles as well as pink ribbon sparkly stickers.  It looked to me today like there were lots of stickers I'd never seen before on both the pegboards on the wall by the entrance as well as on the spinning racks.

There are several new ribbons and more of the green velvet rickrack that we reordered.

Many of the products that Lydia and Connie ordered at the MA show in late March are starting to arrive.  We are expecting packages almost every day for awhile.  Be sure to stop by frequently and check out what's new!  We've got a great table display right now of dog and cat stamps.  The newest House Mouse is in!  And there's only one of the Dogwood stamps from Hero Arts that is our stamp-of-the-month.

Charlene is back and she is teaching a class this coming Saturday using circles and the Bo Bunny purple coordinating sparkly papers.  Call the store to sign up!

There are almost always classes on Mondays and Saturdays.  Plans are already in the works for summer classes, too.  Please let us know what you would like for instruction so that we can create classes to meet your needs.  You can always leave a comment on this blog, send me an e-mail at anne.thompson@fairpoint.net, or call the store at 377-4829 to leave a message.  We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you in the store!!!

Happy Stamping!
