NEW ITEMS IN AT YOUR MAINE STAMPER!

Lydia called this morning to tell me that the Alice In Wonderland/Halloween papers from Graphic 45 have arrived.  There was a huge box full of neat stuff she was unpacking, pricing, and putting out today.

These are two of the papers that I know that came in--Wonderland Classifieds and Jabberwocky playing cards.  Cute!!

Be sure to drop into the store on Saturday if you are waiting for Memory Box items.  One order should be here by then--the big one with papers and some special orders.  We expect another order the first of next week of mostly special order PoppyStamps.  Someone will call you when your particular order arrives and is ready for pick up.  Would love to have company at the store on Saturday while I'm working.   Lydia's daughter Gina and family are visiting from Florida for a few days, and you never know what I'll do when the boss is away!  I will at least have some kind of materials out for a free make & take challenge.

It's CHA time when the big show happens in Chicago and all the newest products are released for fall and winter.  I've been following sneak peek blogs for weeks and Twitter and FaceBook posts from people there.  We've been getting new catalogs and paper samples in and Lydia has been ordering things that are available now and pre-ordering some things that won't be shipped until September.  This is an exciting time!  No matter how much stuff I have, I always want what's new!!!

Happy Stamping!

TWINKLING H2Os HAVE JUST ARRIVED!!!

HOORAY!!!  The Twinkling H2Os are here!  These are the paints in the little pots that we used during Dave's watercolor class last week.  Just add a few drops of water to the little paint pot and you're ready to watercolor!  When dry, these paints have a beautiful shimmer to them.

We ordered the 6-jar kits in Basic Rainbow, Creative Spirit, and Wild Flowers assortments.  These will retail for about $13+.  Stop in during the Ice Cream Social Saturday afternoon to pick up some!  Can't get in and you are dying to have them?  Call Lydia at the store to reserve your sets.  You're gonna love 'em!!!

Anne's Photos from Yesterday/Dave @ YMS

Welcome, Dave!!!

Store displays of Memory Box products and everything else you need to complete the sample cards!

Dave and Eileen check out the Memory Box cards displayed in the bathroom!  Eileen had a technique question about one of the cards I'd posted there.  This may be the first time that Dave has ever taught in the ladies room!

Donna, Kellie and Connie look at the samples booklet that Dave made of all the cards we were making.

Jeanne borrowed Eileen's extra large pair of glasses to try the "two pairs are better than one" technique. This appeared to work quite well for painting in the tiniest areas!  Thanks for the demonstrations, Eileen and Jeanne!!!

Carlene is looking very studious in this shot, whereas she was smiling every other time I looked at her!

Here's the second table folks with Dave:  Anita, Peggy, Connie D., and Maureen, Nancy (partially obscured); Jo, Linda, and Mickie are not shown

YUMMM!  Dave chows down on lobster rolls!  Look at that lovely strawberry kiwi trifle!!!

Wish I had taken more pictures during the day, but I got so caught up in the making of the cards that I quite forgot about documenting the day!

Thanks, Dave...We had a great time with you and hope that you enjoyed your brief stay in Maine!!!

Dave is setting up for the morning class

                 Donna has a question...
Eileen and Jeanne talking to Donna...Eileen actually changed her plane reservations from/to California in order to take this class.  I think she traveled the farthest!!!

What a fun day we had!!!  Watercolor class in the morning with 13 people and colored pencils in the afternoon with 15!!!

Connie made the puzzle piece nametag pins that we're all wearing.  Thank you, Connie!!!!!

Connie and Anne served lunch with a lot of help--lobster salad (Anne), turkey salad (Connie), chicken salad (Anne) and egg salad (Donna) sandwiches; chips (Lydia); veggies and dips (Donna); veggie rolls (Jo); lemonade (Kellie); iced tea (Anne); bottled water (Lydia)...and DESSERTS--strawberry kiwi trifle (Linda); chocolate and chocolate chip cookies (Jeanne).  Thanks to everyone who pitched in!!!  We had lots of time to eat, socialize, and shop between classes!!!

At the end of the day Dave helped Connie and me to restock our shelves with the newest Memory Box stamps for fall and Christmas.  He also left more samples for us to display in the store.  So...the next time you are in, take a good look around!

And don't forget to check out the display boards in the bathroom!  There's even a wacky collage that I made for summer!

More pictures later, as soon as I figure out how to get them the correct size for posting so they don't take hours to load up!

Welcome, Dave!!! Dave Brethauer from Memory Box here Wednesday!

We are soooooo excited about our visit with Dave Brethauer from Memory Box!  He will be with us all day on Wednesday the 14th, teaching a watercolor class in the morning and colored pencil class in the afternoon.

Connie and I have been planning/scheming for weeks now!!!  We're hosting lunch for Dave, Lydia, and all of the participants in both classes!  Kellie (and Pat) are making the lemonade, Jeanne is baking cookies, Donna's bringing brownies if her husband doesn't eat them all, Linda is whipping up a trifle--hmmm...I just noticed that I started with the desserts list first!  Donna's using Kathy's eggs for egg salad, Connie's making turkey salad, and Jo is making a veggie dish.  I'm buying whatever looks good at the deli (shhh!) for the rest of the sandwich fillings, but don't tell on me!  Lydia's got bottles of water chilling in the fridge and I'm bringing iced tea (Thank you, Arizona!)  We figured that having lunch at YMS will make it easier on everyone, give us all a chance to visit and shop between classes, and chat with Dave.  Connie even made puzzle pin name tags for each of us!  (Dave's has a moose and a lobster on it!)  Thanks to everyone who has contributed in some way to the festivities!!!

I couldn't believe it today when our favorite guy, the UPS man, brought in three big boxes full of Memory Box stamps!!!  We have ordered in a lot of new products used in Dave's sample cards and we have our fingers crossed that Twinkling H2Os will arrive in the morning tomorrow.  We have FlowerSoft in a variety of colors, embossing powders in luscious colors as well as black and white, and red/green/and white flocking.  (Side note:  After experimenting with flocking on Monday afternoon with the "regulars" I went home and watched 15 lessons on how to use the stuff on various websites and online videos.  I think I've got it figured out now!)  In addition to our regular Memory box shelves, table, pegboards and paper rack I've added an extra table full of goodies!!!

So, even if you haven't signed up for the class, you still should come in shopping!!!  Hope to see a lot of you Wednesday!

Happy Stamping!

New Memory Box product in--Design Adhesives

Dave Brethauer at Memory Box has collaborated with ClearSnap to create some Design Adhesives in Memory Box images.  I LOVE these!  We have them in the store in a variety of designs for fall, Christmas, nature, flourishes, etc.   The Outside the Box blog today features a video by Laura Fulcher on how to use Design Adhesives on paper, acetate, wood, glass, and more with glitter, PerfectPearls, foil, flocking and other media.  Check it out!  This is a great new addition to our Memory Box line at Your Maine Stamper.  Below are some sample cards using this product.

from the ClearSnap website:  Create beautiful projects, cards and pages in seconds with these double-sided patterned adhesives. Perfect for use with embossing powder, glitter, foil, leafing, micro beads, pigment powders and flocking. .

Design Adhesives are easy to use. Peel off the backing paper. Place the design on your work piece. The transparent top sheet lets you position it perfectly. Gently rub the design with your fingertips, and then lift off the top sheet. Sprinkle with glitter or an embellishment of your choice. Brush off the excess.

Happy Stamping!
